About the Author
Phil Syphe was born in 1975 and grew up in the East Yorkshire village of North Newbald. He currently lives in Hull.
He graduated from the University of Hull with an MA (Distinction) and a BA (2.i) in Creative Writing & English.
In 2013, Phil released a collection of short stories – CASH
'N' CARROTS & OTHER CAPERS – which includes
his best work produced at university.
He has written three novels for his Emma Goodall series: LUNAR CRESCENT (2013), KISSING COUSINS (2014), and MIXED UP (2014).
In 2015, he released a humorous novelette entitled SHEP: A CAT'S TALE.
As a long-term enthusiast of reading historical fiction, Phil decided to start writing novels in this genre. First up was an alternate history of Richard III & Henry VII, called WHITE ROSE BLOSSOMS, published in 2019.
2021 saw the release of THE MARQUISE OF DARKNESS: A NOVEL OF MADAME DE BRINVILLIERS. This novel is about the real-life crimes and exploits of seventeenth-century poisoner the Marquise de Brinvilliers.
